On this tour, you will have sufficient time to experience village life and also explore the mangrove forests of Sundarban. Two nights at our tranquil jungle lodge in Sundarban will also help you to unwind. On the first day, you will be relaxing at the resort, enjoying the birds around you, interacting with the locals, and visiting the Banabibi temples. Over the next two days, you will be exploring the forest. Since light pollution is minimal, you can even try to photograph the night sky.
The pristine villages, the boat cruise through endless rivers and creeks, the perfect sunset, and the abundance of life forms in this unique habitat will rejuvenate travellers. The two-day long jungle cruise by boat will provide ample opportunity for the sighting of several species of birds, mammals, fishes, and reptiles.
Pick up from your Kolkata hotel or airport in the morning. Drive from Kolkata to Gadhkhali through the rural countryside. 105 km, 3.5 hr.
Transfer to our motorized boat at Gadhkhali jetty. From Gadhkhali jetty it takes one hour to reach the resort which is situated on an island. Enjoy the landscape as you cruise through the rivers of Sundarban.
Lunch will be served after check-in at the resort.
Take a short rest after lunch. In the evening, explore the flora, fauna, and the village life of Sundarban.

After breakfast, embark on a full-day jungle cruise in our motorized boat.
During the day, you will explore the flora and fauna of Sundarban by cruising through the innumerable creeks and canals of Sundarban. You can get down from the boat and walk inside the forest only at the designated watchtowers of Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali, and Dobanki. During the cruise, you might spot Saltwater Crocodiles, Water Monitor Lizard, Spotted Deer, Rhesus Macaque, Small-clawed Otter, dolphin, and several birds. Marvel at the mangroves and their unique root systems as the boat navigates through the creeks of Bonobibir Bharani, Pirkhali, Gaji Khali, and Choragaji Khali. This is the best way to experience the mangroves of Sundarban. If you are lucky, you may even spot a Bengal Tiger.
Lunch will be freshly cooked and served on the boat. In the evening, return back to the resort. Enjoy the sunset on the river from the boat while you sip your evening cup of tea.

After breakfast, check out from the resort and board our boat for another full day safari inside the mangroves of Sundarban. Visit the creeks and canals which could not be covered on Day 2. The boatman and forest guide may decide otherwise and take you to that part of the National Park where chances of tiger sightings are high.
From the boat, enjoy the vast expanse of waters at Panchamukhani. You will also see several species of birds, viz. the terns, gulls, six to seven types of kingfishers, Greater Adjutant Stork, Crested Serpent Eagle, Changeable Hawk Eagle, plovers, and sandpipers. The more you spend time cruising through the creeks and channels of the forest, the more flora and fauna you will be able to see.
Lunch will be freshly cooked and served on the boat. In the evening, the boat will drop you at the Gadhkhali Jetty where our vehicle will be waiting for you. The vehicle will drop you at your hotel in Kolkata or at the airport.
Nov-Jan: Winters. Cold. Woolens and light jackets are required. Mufflers and caps are required for early morning and late evening boat rides.
Feb-Mar: Spring. Warm during the day. Pleasant in the morning and evening.
Apr-Jun: Summers. Very hot and humid. Chances of storms.
Jul-Sep: Monsoon. Hot and humid. Intermittent heavy showers.
Oct: Autumn. Warm during the day. Pleasant in the morning and evening.
Oct-Mar is the best time to see birds in Sundarban. During this time both resident and migratory birds can be spotted.
However, the monsoons, i.e. Jul-Sep is a good time to spot a few species of birds like the Ruddy Kingfisher, Mangrove Whistler, and Mangrove Pitta.
Tigers are spotted in Sundarban throughout the year. November is a good time. Peak tourist seasons (last week of Dec) should be avoided if the tiger is the main focus.
